About the Prices for our Hair Extensions Services
How are prices determined for new hair extension sets?
Prices for new sets vary depending on the fitting method and are based on an average head of hair. The cost may also differ depending on the range, Luxury or Superior. From the fitting method, the amount of hair and the colours. A more tailored price can be provided through a physical face-to-face consultation.
What is included with a new hair extensions set?
Hair, fitting, cut and style. Free check up appointment after 2 to 3 weeks of install, this service is offered to all new clients who are hair extensions newbies and to those with particularly fine hair.
Do maintenance prices vary?
Can I bring my own hair?
No I don’t fit extensions supplied by the customer but I can do a maintenance on existing extensions not fitted by me if the quality and conditions allows it.
Do extensions damage my hair?
Hair extensions are completely safe for the natural hair if the aftercare is followed and regular maintenance appointments are attended.
How can I wash my hair?
Wash your hair with your head upright not over in the bath, two to three times a week maximum this depends on your lifestyle and hair type.
Brush the hair before wetting it, make sure the roots are detangled, separate the bonds.
Wet the hair with warm water, massage the shampoo gently but thoroughly on the scalp.
Make sure you are washing your scalp in between the extensions.
Stroke the ends only don’t rub too hard. Rinse well and repeat with a second shampoo in the same way. Rinse the second shampoo then gently towel dry the excess of water.
If you apply conditioner on dripping wet hair you will dilute this and loose its effect.
Apply conditioner away from the roots, brush the conditioner with a soft brush or tangle teezer starting from the ends towards the roots supporting these with your free hand. Do not just use your fingers otherwise you will miss out on 50% of the hair. Leave your conditioner for a few minutes or up to 20 minutes if you are doing a treatment mask. Rinse well and gently towel dry. Do not wrap your hair in a towel to prevent knotting.
Do not sleep with your conditioner on.
Use only the recommended aftercare shampoo conditioner and conditioning mask.
Conditioner is for frequent use while a conditioning mask or treatment should be used once every 10 days.
Do not apply conditioner on the roots.
How can dry and style my extensions?
Smooth blow drying:
Brush the hair very gently when wet then start rough drying it until it’s 80% dry. Spray recommended heat protectant and hair oil. Make sure the bonds are well dried. Then blow dry in sections using a round brush or paddle brush and a hair dryer with nozzle.
Make sure you have a powerful hair dryer as you will have more hair and blow-drying extensions takes a long time.
Always make sure you are pointing your hair dryer downwards not upwards to prevent matting.
Diffuse blow drying:
If you wish to leave your hair wavy you can diffuse blow dry it. You will need a blow dryer with diffuser. Firstly, rough dry the roots and the bonds then apply heat protectant in hair oil to the ends and gently rest the ends on to the diffuser. Make sure your hair dryer is set at a medium temperature and keep it moving. Do not run your fingers through the hair but you’d rather scrunch it with your fingers. Apply more hair oil if needed.
You can also leave the hair to dry naturally as long as the bonds are dry.
Can I apply oil on the roots?
no oils or conditioners should be applied near the attachments as these will make the hair slippery and the extensions will slide out.
Can I reuse the hair?
All hair extensions supplied by Ambitious Lengths are long lasting and can be reused for over a year if the right aftercare is followed.
What's the difference between half and full head?
- Half to add volume/ full for length and volume
- How much hair you need for half head/full head, depends on how : , long, thick is your hair, how big is your head, how long you want to go.
- Fine hair/small head/ mid length hair : needs less hair , sometimes half head is enough to give length and volume (like a full head) upto 75 grams
- Medium to thick , shorter hair, bigger hair will need more hair to add length otherwise it will look gappy and won’t blend. Extensions will need applying on the high part of the head to blend the layers with the length . Upto £150 grams. Extra grams for 22 or 24 inches length.
- 3/4 head set is also possible but the amount of hair is established on consultation because it depends on how long your hair is and how is cut.
If you found this confusing I totally understand that’s why a consultation is vital to give the best advice. Each work is custom made and 1 to 1
Bookings + Deposits for Your Appointment
Do I need to book a consultation before getting hair extensions?
Yes, all new clients must book a consultation before the fitting appointment to assess the hair and scalp, and to color-match the hair.
We recommend filling out the online consultation form https://ambitiouslengths.co.uk/ prior booking the in person consultation so I can give you a rough quote and check suitability first.
What is the cancellation policy for appointments?
Should I wash my hair before my appointment?
Before the maintenance or installation appointment please make sure your hair is thoroughly washed on the day. 2 washes with clarifying shampoo no conditioner on the roots.
If the hair feels oily it won’t be possible to carry out the service as your extensions won’t be guaranteed to stay in.
When washing your hair you should make sure you are massaging the scalp thoroughly and the shampoo lathers well.
Are mobile hair extension services available?
No, I offer 1 to 1 care from my private studio in N7 London.
Do we offer cut and colouring service?
We mainly focus on hair extensions but we offer hair cutting and colouring services our regular hair extensions customers.
Can I have a consultation while still wearing the old extensions?
No, in order to check hair and scalp, colour match and assess how much hair is needed, the hair must be free from extensions.
Can I use any aftercare products?
To maintain the quality and longevity of your extensions, I recommend using Kalona hair products. They are specifically suited for premium hair and have consistently proven to keep the hair soft, hydrated, and long-lasting.
You’re of course free to use other products. However, please note this is entirely at your own discretion. I cannot guarantee the performance, longevity, or condition of the extensions when alternative products are used
What is the adjustment period ?
Small adjustments ( like bonds slipping out, felling tight, few bonds being visible and wanting to remove, few bonds wanting to be added, more cutting of extensions) can be fixed for free within 7 days period of fitting.
After 7 days these may incur a fee as these issues may be due to aftercare or daily wear and styling habits
